Why our packaging is in harmony with the universe

Why our packaging is in harmony with the universe

Fun Fact:  In Eastern tradition, it is believed that the colour violet represents the harmony of the universe. *

Everything we do at Terra Tonics must have integrity, value and limit unnecessary waste.

Our glass packaging is no exception.

Since our formulations are purely dynamic plant extracts we needed a vessel that will safeguard its longevity, efficacy and potency without unnecessary binders, fillers and preservatives.

After much testing and trials we finally settled on MIRON glass or biophotonic glass.

The technology of MIRON glass is not new. The Egyptians were using it to store rare herbs, unguents and perfumes. Archaeological digs unearthed that these precious commodities were stored in rarefied dark violet glass.

The scientific community were baffled at first but worked it out in the last 20 years that the violet glass were protection from the sun.

As we know the sun is both beneficial and detrimental. We need the sun but to harness the best parts of its energy and make that work for us can be challenging.

In order to understand this process we need to quickly get our heads around some scientific terms:

– Quantum Physics, the study of matter and energy, proves that all living things emit visible light waves.

– Biophotonics is the scientific study of the relationship between light, energy and the human body. The word itself comes from the Greek ‘bios’, meaning ‘life’, and ‘phos’, meaning ‘light’.

– Biophotons are the invisible light particles generated by almost all living cells. There is growing evidence proving that absorbing biophotons increases vitality, prevents disease and even slows down the ageing process. Simply the more biophotons you absorb, the better it is for your health and wellbeing.

So what does all this have to do with our packaging?

We use MIRON glass that is dark violet in hue to safeguard the efficacy of our formulations. Biophotonic glass or MIRON glass also protects the biophotonic activity of natural products. Preventing the loss of biophotons and retaining their natural goodness, sustains efficacy and makes preservatives unnecessary.

MIRON glass also acts as a natural barrier for energy stored within the product itself, keeping it all bottled up. This prolongs the natural effective quality of the product. The crucial benefit of violet glass is that it’s a natural filter blocking out the damaging spectrum of visible light (excluding ultraviolet and infrared).

In independent scientific tests violet glass, when compared to other glass, plastic or aluminium packaging is up to four times better for the storage of natural products without using preservatives. The longer shelf life and the possibility to reuse and recycle, makes our glass packaging undoubtedly the sustainable wise choice.

In Eastern tradition, it is believed that the colour violet represents the harmony of the universe. Blue symbolise spring and red summer.

The combination of the colours represents sustainability and rejuvenation. It is also believed the mixing of blue and red is Yin and Yang. Yin being the stored energy that preserves matter while Yang is solar energy that is outgoing and free.
